Programs click on images above to see program descriptions Archeoastronomy: Ancient Paths of the Sun, Moon and Stars (Combination of History and Astronomy) Astronomy was everywhere in the ancient world.  If you look at the oldest surviving works of art and architecture, you find astronomy within them: Cave paintings in France, pyramids in Egypt, intricate mounds in the Americas.  Civilizations expressed and celebrated their knowledge of this oldest science through works of art and monumental construction projects.  From the Nile River valley to British Isles, from the forests of the Ohio Valley to peaks of the Andes, cultures created impressive and beautiful ways of measuring the movements of the heavens that survive to this day.   Dean has visited and studied many of these sites as a historian and astronomer at the Cincinnati Observatory.  Take a journey with Dean to explore these amazing archeoastronomy sites and discover more of what the ancients knew about the universe.
